Two days after Piper’s birthday bash we left for New York and have been gone for almost six weeks on and off. I have a new respect for people who travel all the time for work. I’m still exhausted, everything is a mess and I have a stack of Christmas cards I never opened. But today is my first day in my work routine and it feels sooo good! I’m ready to dive into 2019 and I have so many fun ideas swirling around in my head. But before I do anything else, I’m getting the photos from Piper’s party out into the universe!
Was anyone else obsessed with Winnie the Pooh as a kid?! It was by far my favorite cartoon and with the release of the movie, Christoper Robin this summer, I knew a group costume with all our favorite characters from the 100 acre woods would be perfect for this Halloween! Last year I partnered with Primary to create two dessert inspired DIY costumes that you can see here. I have to say this is one of my favorite projects of the year. How adorable are my friends babies?!
When we remodeled our house last summer the dining room was the only space we didn't touch. It's the first room you see when you walk in the front door and I wanted to give it more of a wow factor but was stumped on what to do. Any ideas I had were shot down because we had so many other projects going on with the kitchen, bathrooms, and closets - not to mention a baby on the way! Here we are about a year after wrapping up the big projects and I have the itch to finally give our dining room a much needed face lift
There might be record breaking temps all across the country but summertime screams outdoor dinner parties. We're heading to Colorado in a couple weeks and I'm so excited to sit out on the back deck for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I pulled together no fuss dinner party inspiration using items from Bed, Bath & Beyond just in case you have the itch to dine al fresco like me.
I've never met a theme I didn't like especially when it comes to summer entertaining! With Memorial Day this weekend, you might be tempted to decorate with traditional flag decor but I challenge you to think outside the box a little bit!
We came really close to tearing this porch down but I’m so glad we didn’t! Instead we gave it a much needed facelift and updated some furniture with the help of Tuesday Morning! I knew these blue chairs had to come home with me the minute I saw them in store. I’m so excited about the space and I know we’ll use it a ton this spring and summer!
This room is the definition of a labor of love! Between the Otomi stencil wall my mom and I painted or the countless yarn poms and tassels I made while counting down the final days of my pregnancy, this room was my favorite project yet!
I'm so excited to finally share the before and after of our kitchen remodel! This was our first time renovating and let me tell ya, watching HGTV does NOT mentally prepare you for a project like this haha! We learned a few lessons the hard way and today I'm sharing our biggest takeaways from the process.
On December 17th my life forever changed when my daughter, Piper June was born! The only thing I'm more grateful for than the epidural was having Ailee there capturing the first moment Trent and I met her. Cue the waterworks!
Last fall I shared about my postpartum hair changes and thankfully is has improved drastically! My hair loss has tapered and scalp is a lot healthier than it was six months ago. However, I’m convinced the texture of my hair is forever changed. I color my hair a few times a year and even though that’s not super frequent, my hair feels brittle and breaks all the time especially around my face. I always had super strong hair before Piper - it was down to my waist in my mid 20’s! But nowadays it feels damaged and coarse.
When Piper was four months old we started working with virtual sleep trainer, Eat Play Sleep and she was a game changer for us! Piper was your typical newborn, waking up every 3-4 hours for the first few months but month three was super tough. I’m convinced Piper was outsmarting us! She started waking up every 2 hours and all the iced coffee in the world couldn’t help me get through the day. I shared about my struggles on Instagram and someone recommended Tiffany with Eat Play Sleep and I reached out to her immediately.
I have some big goals for this year and one of them is to find a way to make hosting unforgettable parties a piece of cake (figuratively and literally!). I can’t reveal too much yet because it’s still in the very beginning stages but I would love to hear your feedback and pain points when hosting a party.
I was so sad when I had to take down the pink Christmas tree, garland and wreath from Treetopia last month so when they asked if I would incorporate the wreath into my Valentine’s decor as part of their Love in All Colors campaign, I was all for it! Instead of going with a normal candy table, I used my bar cart and filled it with the sweetest treats!
I was a guest on Houston Life for the third time today and it was so much fun! I shared all about how to host a self care themed Galentine’s party for your friends! I know the holiday is only a few days away but this could be recreated for a Bachelor watching party, book club or just a fun reason to get your girlfriends together!
