Was anyone else obsessed with Winnie the Pooh as a kid?! It was by far my favorite cartoon and with the release of the movie, Christoper Robin this summer, I knew a group costume with all our favorite characters from the 100 acre woods would be perfect for this Halloween! Last year I partnered with Primary to create two dessert inspired DIY costumes that you can see here. I have to say this is one of my favorite projects of the year. How adorable are my friends babies?!
When we remodeled our house last summer the dining room was the only space we didn't touch. It's the first room you see when you walk in the front door and I wanted to give it more of a wow factor but was stumped on what to do. Any ideas I had were shot down because we had so many other projects going on with the kitchen, bathrooms, and closets - not to mention a baby on the way! Here we are about a year after wrapping up the big projects and I have the itch to finally give our dining room a much needed face lift
There might be record breaking temps all across the country but summertime screams outdoor dinner parties. We're heading to Colorado in a couple weeks and I'm so excited to sit out on the back deck for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I pulled together no fuss dinner party inspiration using items from Bed, Bath & Beyond just in case you have the itch to dine al fresco like me.
I've never met a theme I didn't like especially when it comes to summer entertaining! With Memorial Day this weekend, you might be tempted to decorate with traditional flag decor but I challenge you to think outside the box a little bit!
We came really close to tearing this porch down but I’m so glad we didn’t! Instead we gave it a much needed facelift and updated some furniture with the help of Tuesday Morning! I knew these blue chairs had to come home with me the minute I saw them in store. I’m so excited about the space and I know we’ll use it a ton this spring and summer!
This room is the definition of a labor of love! Between the Otomi stencil wall my mom and I painted or the countless yarn poms and tassels I made while counting down the final days of my pregnancy, this room was my favorite project yet!
I'm so excited to finally share the before and after of our kitchen remodel! This was our first time renovating and let me tell ya, watching HGTV does NOT mentally prepare you for a project like this haha! We learned a few lessons the hard way and today I'm sharing our biggest takeaways from the process.
On December 17th my life forever changed when my daughter, Piper June was born! The only thing I'm more grateful for than the epidural was having Ailee there capturing the first moment Trent and I met her. Cue the waterworks!
Before Piper was born I had high hopes to scheduling out a bunch of content but between the normal December craze and my lack of motivation, it didn't happen. But you can't win 'em all right?! So this is my first post back and I can't think of a better way to kick off 2018 than an interview with Joy Cho of Oh Joy!
We are a split household when it comes to football. I originally went to Texas Tech, but then transferred to The University of Texas my sophomore year. Trent went to Texas Tech and is a diehard red raider. This is a big weekend for our family as Texas plays Texas Tech at Tech’s home in Lubbock. Now that we have Piper, tailgating parties are a bit different than they were in the past. I love having friends over to watch the game and “tailgate” out my mom car/Tahoe.
When we remodeled our home last summer and we changed almost every room in the house besides the living room. I really wanted to knock down the wall between the dining and living room but the project was going to price us out of the neighborhood so we decided not move forward for the sake of budget and resale value. Once the kitchen, bathrooms and master were new and shiny, the living room felt like such an eye sore. But I was 6 months pregnant and we had other more pressing things to work on i.e. the nursery so I tried to somewhat refresh the space on a budget. We switched out the fan, rug and pillows to hold me over until we were ready to overhaul the space.
Since the temperatures dropped in Houston, it’s feeling like fall! (or as close to fall as we get here!) I don’t do a ton of decorating for fall but I do love having my porch decked out for a few months!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays (and basically all of October, November and December)! I love getting to decorate the porch but I love even more to make the fun food and drinks to celebrate the spooky day! A couple years ago I made these Mad Scientist Inspired Cocktails and they were such a fun twist on my normal girly cocktails.
My birthday is on December 25th, and I’ve always been a HUGE fan of the holiday season. I love decorating, hosting dinner parties and making fun festive treats! I’ve attempted several gingerbread houses in my day, but they can be a little tricky to assemble, not to mention time consuming!
