We came really close to tearing this porch down but I’m so glad we didn’t! Instead we gave it a much needed facelift and updated some furniture with the help of Tuesday Morning! I knew these blue chairs had to come home with me the minute I saw them in store. I’m so excited about the space and I know we’ll use it a ton this spring and summer!
This room is the definition of a labor of love! Between the Otomi stencil wall my mom and I painted or the countless yarn poms and tassels I made while counting down the final days of my pregnancy, this room was my favorite project yet!
I'm so excited to finally share the before and after of our kitchen remodel! This was our first time renovating and let me tell ya, watching HGTV does NOT mentally prepare you for a project like this haha! We learned a few lessons the hard way and today I'm sharing our biggest takeaways from the process.
On December 17th my life forever changed when my daughter, Piper June was born! The only thing I'm more grateful for than the epidural was having Ailee there capturing the first moment Trent and I met her. Cue the waterworks!
Before Piper was born I had high hopes to scheduling out a bunch of content but between the normal December craze and my lack of motivation, it didn't happen. But you can't win 'em all right?! So this is my first post back and I can't think of a better way to kick off 2018 than an interview with Joy Cho of Oh Joy!
Move over red and green, pink and teal are where it's at this Christmas! It doesn't hurt that they're my favorite colors but I promise this party will make you rethink your traditional holiday color scheme!
I've been a huge fan of the Fashionable Hostess for years now, Amanda's blog is filled with gorgeous inspiration for all things entertaining and home decor. If you're a fan of light and airy spaces and celebrations I highly recommend checking her out! Needless to say I was completely honored when I was asked to create a tablescape for her dinner party series! Check out the rest of the feature here!
I'm so excited to share the photos from the baby shower my best friends and sister hosted for me this past Sunday! To say I was blown away when I walked into the studio is an understatement. Every detail was absolute perfection!
Who doesn't want to make life easier? Since hearing about Emily Ley's mission to make life simpler with the Simplified Planner, I've had a girl crush on her and her booming business! I love her colorful lifestyle as well as her love for family. I'm honored to have her as the next guest on the Cultivating Kindness series!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays (second to Christmas, of course!) mainly because it's an excuse to dress up in a fun costume. I've DIY-ed a lot of costumes for myself over the years but this year you can tell my mind is consumed with all things baby because this is my second round of kids costumes! In case you missed it, I shared a fun toddler costume last week featuring Ailee's oldest daughter Isla that you can check out here!
I came home from Mexico with a bag full of yarn pom poms and tassels. Even though I know how to make them, I always love the color combinations I can get my hands on down there! Our trips to Punta Mita started my love for Otomi patterns a few years ago which inspired Piper's nursery and my baby shower theme. It's safe to say when I find something I like, I really stick with it!
I get a professional mani/pedi a couple times a year normally before a big trip to treat myself. I went to a nail salon before heading to Mexico and decided to try dipped powder nails. I always do gel but so many people rave about how long dipped lasts. As someone who does their own manicure at home in 30 minutes, the whole process was crazy long to me.
Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite "holidays" because of the bright colors and fun festivities, and the drinks make it even better! I have three go to Mexican cocktails that I love making for a group or just for Trent and me- the Paloma, the Jalapeno Margarita and the Minialmist Margartia.
When I'm at the beach or pool, I'd rather feel comfortable than worry about my tummy after a couple cocktails or burger. I typically try to eat really healthy before a vacation then it's a free for all once I get there. In my opinion that's what a vacation is all about! With that being said I'm really particular about the fit of a swimsuit.
One of my favorite baby items to date is the Owlet Smart Sock. When I was pregnant, we registered for a bassinet because we originally planned to keep Piper in our room for the first three months (or longer!!). After the first month of having Piper sleep in our room, we realized it was better for us all if she started to sleep in her crib.
